In the southern parts of the Karelian Isthmus the veil of married Äyrämöis women was reduced to a button-like veil worn on the forehead. Sohvi Tuokko, dressed in an Äyrämöis costume-woollen skirt with narrow straps, apron tied under the arms, button veil and linen leggings-shows how to fold the veil in Metsäpirtti, 1915.
